"With a strong feeling that if I totally jumped into the unknown, something beautiful would happen, I sold everything and moved to Costa Rica in late 2020."
Did you know that if you have ever taken a RYME yoga class, often times, the theme that appears and is shared is something I am working on, personally? It's true. We wanted to share a bit more about ourselves so that you could get to know us to learn how we RYME and why RYMING with us feels so authentic, effective and just plain good.
I'm Hanna, the other half of the RYME duo. Loes is my best friend, my angel, my inspiration, my therapist and my anchor in so many ways! Now that you've gotten to know her, I thought I would share a bit about me.
My road to RYME has been paved with years of both formal and informal education and experience. I have been a student of yoga for over 16 years, and have been guiding others in this divine practice for nearly ten of them.
Prior to RYME, I served my South Carolina community as a public school teacher. Additionally, I have been practicing & studying yoga for 17 years and in 2018 completed my YTT. After leaving the classroom, I earned a Masters in Education and my thesis was on the neuroscience of mindfulness for school teachers. Once I completed my graduate studies, I founded my own education consulting company that created & led neuroscience-based mindfulness workshops for school teachers in districts around the United States.
With a strong feeling that if I totally jumped into the unknown, something beautiful would happen, I sold everything and moved to Costa Rica in late 2020 and then ended up creating and co-founding RYME with Loes. Through RYME, and the experiences we create, I'm the half that holds space for you to explore and dive into your own wholeness through breath, medicinal movement, energy work, music + playful togetherness.
Specifically through RYME and the practices we teach, share and embody, I have felt tremendous personal growth in the last few years. Not only does my practice deepen every day but my ability to trust myself and the deep unknowns of life continues to expand. About a year ago, I met my (romantic) partner and man oh man are relationships a mirror (right?!). Because of RYME I am able to look at parts of myself I was ignoring before, and also continue to receive professional guidance and support for me, personally. We truly walk the talk, and embrace ourselves and our own inner work so that we can continue to show up and be the best version of ourselves for you.
I truly believe because we are authentically and whole-ly ourselves it creates a safe and spacious place for you to look inward so you can shine outward.
xx
Hanna
